On Tuesday, we went to the Quoricancha in Cusco. That was the site where the Incas worshipped the sun. The Spanish built a church on top of it when they came but it is now a museum. There has been a festival going on all week known as Inti Raymi. It is a festival to honor the sun. The sun was the primary god of the Incas. It's also like a giant garage sale because throughout all of the streets, people are sitting out on rugs selling things. The festival is winding down but you can still hear all of the noises from the streets below our hotel. The museum showcased some Inca walls like the one below.
I am currently feeling pretty bad at the moment. I had some food in Aguas Calientes that didn't really agree with my stomach and have been feeling pretty bad all week. Today was when I began to feel the worst. I wasn't able to go with the rest of the group to Pikillacta which is a pre-Inca Wari site. Even though I was not able to go, I did some reading on the site. http://www.roughguides.com/destinations/south-america/peru/cusco-and-around/south-from-cusco/pikillacta-and-rumicolca/ I'm hoping that I get better soon.
